The agroecosystem of the transhumant herd
The renewal of generations and of the agricultural workforce is a real global concern.
The aim of this project is to provide young future breeders with the skills they need to carry out their farming activities in a viable, sustainable and equitable way, by including transhumance as a sustainable means of moving herds around the region.
This project is part of the international plan to safeguard the practice of transhumance.
This practice has been listed as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (UNESCO) since December 2023.
The partners in the Eco-TransH project are contributing through their actions to keeping this heritage alive, passing it on, promoting it and making it attractive to younger generations.
